The community stretches on a 1 km-long coastal area, among a range of mountains.

The residents mainly deal with agriculture, while others work at the forestry station and in various businesses in Polis Chrysochous.

Agriculture is quite develop as farmers produce olives, pulses, citrus fruit, fruit and almonds.

The housing of Yialia spreads along the valley and the two roads located parallel to the River Yialias. The area falls within the town planning zones, while its eastern part, which is located on the foothills of the Pafos Forest, was declared an area of excellent beauty and nature.  

There are several species of trees and flowers one can admire in the area. Moreover, there is a Nature Trail where you can walk and enjoy the beauties of nature.
